TREASURY PS DR. KIPTOO HOLDS A POLICY DIALOGUE MEETING WITH EU AMBASSADORS & REPRESENTATIVES
The National Treasury PS Dr. Chris Kiptoo has urged the European Union to support the Bottom UP Economic Transformation agenda, for Kenya.
Dr. Kiptoo has said the priority reform agenda will focus on fiscal consolidation, governance reforms and implementing the Bottom Up Economic Transformation agenda geared towards inclusive and sustainable growth, especially on critical sectors of the economy which requires support from the public and private sectors.
The PS was speaking in Nairobi during the 2023 policy dialogue meeting between the National Treasury , the European Union Delegation to Kenya and EU member states.
The PS assured the EU delegation that the government will ensure timely transfer of shared resources, strengthening governance, fight corruption , and curb money laundering crimes, through a raft of policy measures aimed at strengthening.
“The National Treasury has embarked on Public sector financial management reforms strategy 2023-2028 focusing on rolling out and deepening various PFM Reforms at the National and county levels of government,” said the PS.
The EU Ambassador to Kenya Henriette Geiger, applauded the government for its efforts aimed at stabilizing the economy and added that the EU will compliment the World Bank and International Monetary Fund to fund Kenya’s development projects.
Present during the meeting were, Portuguese Ambassador to Kenya HE Ana Philomena Rocha, Representatives of EU ambassadors among others.
