Prof Ndungu underscore the importance of CDF in Development
The National Treasury and Economic Planning CS Prof Njuguna Ndung’u has underscored the importance of the National Government Constituency Fund (NG-CDF), terming it as a critical factor in the mitigation of the country’s economic challenges at constituency levels.
The CS has said the Government acknowledges the impact of transformational development through NG-CDF reflected at the grassroots which resonates well with the Government’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
CS Prof. Ndung’u spoke at a Nairobi hotel during the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the National Government NG-CDF.
The CS revealed that despite the tough economic conditions facing the country, the National Treasury and Economic Planning managed to disburse KSh. 40 billion to date and is committed to disburse the remaining amount before the end of the financial year.
Further the CS said the NG -CDF was allocated a total budget of KSh. 57.93 billion for Financial Year 2023/2024.
The event was graced by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto, also in attendance were, H.E. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Moses Wetangula, MPs, and NG-CDF officials among others.
