The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Planning, Hon. (Amb.) Ukur Yatani, EGH will be delivering the Budget Statement for the FY 2020/21 to Parliament on 11th June 2020. While finalizing the Statement, the Cabinet Secretary would appreciate contributions and ideas on policy and tax measures from Kenyans for the FY 2020/21 Budget.

Your proposals should be centered on the following broad areas:

  1. Measures to support Kenyans and businesses affected by job losses, increased operating costs, and reduced demand occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic;
  2. Ways to secure the livelihoods of daily wage earners particularly those affected by the health interventions that were implemented as part of disease spread mitigation;

 

  • Policy options on how to lay a firm foundation for economic recovery and renewal;
  1. Suggestions on how to make Kenya's economic growth more inclusive and broad based;
  2. Interventions targeted at keeping the food supply chains functioning;
  3. Proposals on how to support the youth and growth of MSMEs;
  • Suggestions on how to accelerate achievement of the "Big Four" Agenda Priorities;
  • Tips on how to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and create more jobs;
  1. Ways to enhance revenue mobilization, prudently manage public resources and effectively deal with corruption, and
  2. Any other Budget tip or suggestion.
