The National Treasury and Economic Planning CS Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u and USA Ambassador to Kenya HE Meg Whitman signed grant agreement of about Ksh 198 million, to support the public procurement sector in the country.
The technical assistance grant by the US government through the United States Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) will support value for money procurement manual and public procurement guide for suppliers on the value for money approach in public Procurement.
Speaking after the signing of the agreement, Treasury CS Prof. Ndung’u said the grant will provide smarter, long term investments with overall savings to the government.
He noted that the United States of America is a key partner in trade and investment in Kenya, and that two countries will continue fostering the long standing strengthened cooperation that exists.
USTDA focus on sectors that are key to economic growth in partner countries, and those that present opportunities for the US export.
