FY 2023/24 Budget – National Treasury PS Dr. Kiptoo
PS Dr. Kiptoo has exuded confidence that the budget statement presented in Parliament will be progress, with key priority areas that will focus on improving livelihoods.
While fielding questions from reporters during the budget day briefing session at his office, the PS said the theme of the budget is a commitment that it will be based on realistic life priorities and to lower the cost of living.
Dr. Kiptoo said the budget estimates will be progressive despite the multiple economic shocks being experienced locally and globally, compounded by the adverse effects of climate change.
Further he said the government has come up with national tax policy which has been approved by the Cabinet, which will guide in efficiency and fair taxation to promote equity in tax administration and also provide predictable planning for tax environment.
The theme of this year’s budget is Bottom-Up Economic Transformation and Climate Mitigation / Adaptation for Improved Livelihoods of Kenyans
